North Yorkshire County Council is behind the proposals for the 420-pupil school near York Road where more than 1,000 new homes have been given the go-ahead in the last two years.
The school will initially take children from families moving into the new homes, whilst providing extra capacity for over-subscribed schools in the area, according to documents.

Management of the new school will be by an academy provider, which has not yet been selected.
