Thompson left the Brewers for the NCEL Division One outfit in late January in order to build up his match fitness following an injury that ruled him out for the opening part of the season.

According to the club Thompson has been recalled due to certain injuries that have arisen over the last week and will strengthen a squad that faces nine games in the next 28 days.

He is expected to go straight into the squad for tonight’s game at the i2i Stadium.

The former York City youth teamer commented: "I'm looking forward to gettiing back involved with Taddy.

"I got some much needed minutes in the bag at Selby so hopefully I can contribute in some form for the rest of the season’."

The midfielder, captain last season under Paul Marshall, has struggled to break into Billy Miller’s plans this season and has only featured twice for his parent club, making late substitute appearances against Thackley and Worksop Town.

Thompson made nine appearances for the Robins, scoring the winner in a 1-0 defeat of Eccleshill United and impressing at Flaxley Road with a series of combative performances in the middle of the park.

Albion will be full of confidence after a 5-0 win over Retford United at the weekend but Clipstone should provide a stern test tonight, although their five-game unbeaten run came to an end on Saturday in a home defeat to Thackley.

In the reverse fixture, Taddy had to rely on a late Josh Greening goal to snatch a 2-2 draw.
