£1.25m upgrade on sports hall revealed
The sports hall at Outwood Academy Ripon, based on Clotherholme Road, has been completely upgraded to the tune of over £1m after it was stripped back completely to its steel frame before being over clad with new brickwork and metal cladding.
Students will now be able to play football, netball, basketball, volleyball, badminton, or tennis in the new and improved sports hall, while the changing rooms have also been upgraded to include separate male and female changing facilities with new private shower areas.

Hide AdWill Pratt, Principal at Outwood Academy Ripon, said: “We are delighted that the new sports hall has been able to be completed to allow us to deliver some positive news during these turbulent times.
“The sports hall now looks great compared to how it once did, and I cannot wait to see our students utilising the fantastic new resources available to them.”
As well as being revamped to provide a better sporting facility for the academy’s students, the hall has also been fully upgraded with a new lighting and ventilation system to ensure it is suitable to be used for exams.
Additional access points have also been added to the sport hall allowing for easy access to the academy’s external playing fields.

Hide AdThe work cost around £1.25 million and was funded solely by the secondary academy’s sponsor, Outwood Grange Academies Trust and was carried out by Torpoint Construction Ltd, based in Bradford.
Will added: “At Outwood we believe in putting students first and this goes beyond the classroom.”
