Harrogate gets ready for Children in Need
From colouring competitions and cake sales to sponsored shaving and a dance marathon, it’s all kicking off ready for Friday November 13. In Hampsthwaite, Katie Field has already raised more than £800 after promising to shave her 10 inches of hair and donate it all to charity. Katie said: “I didn’t expect to get so much, but there is a lot of people that want to see me with no hair!” Meanwhile dance teacher, James White, is inviting you to dance or donate when he takes on a 24 hour dance challenge. But while people like James and Katie are warming themselves up for the big day, schools throughout the area have already left the mark. Students at St John Fisher’s Catholic High School have taken part in daily activities including an auction and a bake-off competition. And of course, Pudsey himself has been making an appearance... With his first visit at Knaresborough Market Square on Wednesday November 11, Pudsey will also be out and about visiting primary schools throughout the town on Friday.
